For Drivers

Arthur's approach to privacy

Arthur is committed to protecting the security of drivers. We tell you exactly what we collect, why we collect it, and how long we store it for.

Why this matters

Did you know?

Freight theft is on the rise, and brokers need a way to verify the driver and truck. If something happens to you or the load, they might be liable. Brokers want to know if they can trust the driver and truck, but aren't always equipped to do so.

Many brokers do not have a regulated, secure system to store your data once you send it to them. Your driver's license could be sitting on someone's desktop for years. That's where Arthur comes in. We provide a secure system to protect both you and the broker while exchanging private information.

Arthur protects your information by encrypting it and automatically deleting your data after 30 days. You can also request immediate deletion at any time.

What we collect + why

The information Arthur needs to verify you

To confirm that you hold a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) and are operating with current documents, we collect the following:

Location

Your GPS coordinates at the moment of verification, used to confirm you're at or near the load.

License details

Your name, license number, and expiration date, extracted from the CDL image.

Document photos

Front and back of your CDL, plus your cab card. Used to confirm your license and registration are current.

Selfie

A photo of your face to compare to your license using facial geometry.

Never submit a verification from an unknown sender.

If you receive an unexpected verification request or you don't recognize the broker who sent it, do not complete the verification. A legitimate broker will always let you know to expect a request before it arrives.

Note: All texts from Arthur come from (773) 729-6646 only.

Frequently asked questions

Questions drivers ask

You'll be asked to share your GPS location at the time of verification, photograph the front and back of your CDL, photograph your cab card, and take a selfie for facial comparison. A third-party identity service assists in verifying the results.
Freight theft is on the rise, and brokers want to know that they can trust the driver and truck. If you get in an accident, the broker can be liable for not doing their due diligence when verifying your credentials. We ask for your information to check that you match your CDL, your truck matches your VIN, and that your documents are up-to-date.
Arthur uses standard industry best practices. We use HTTPS encryption and automatic data deletion. We also chose third-party services that are contractually obligated to protect your data.
All texts from Arthur come from (773) 729-6646. Always check the URL for misspellings and ensure the site uses HTTPS encryption (indicated by a padlock icon next to the website address). Contact your broker if you're unsure if the request came from them.
Yes, you can close the verification link at any time to opt out. Follow up with your broker directly. If you have questions about whether a particular request is legitimate, speak with your broker first.

You have the following options with respect to your verification data:

The selfie is used for a single comparison against the portrait on your CDL. It confirms that the person holding the license is the person submitting the verification. Arthur does not build a facial database or retain your facial data beyond the 30-day automatic deletion window.
Arthur will not use your information beyond verifying your identity. Your data is shared with the broker who requested the verification. They use it to confirm you are who you say you are. If you submit fraudulent documents, the broker may act on that finding. Arthur does not pursue legal action on behalf of brokers, and Arthur itself does not use your data in any adverse way.
The broker who requested your verification receives the results of verification, including confirmation of your identity and document status. This is necessary for them to decide whether to move forward with your services. Sometimes, the broker may need to review your submission data directly to make a judgment call.
Brokers are required to be authorized representatives of a licensed freight brokerage or logistics company before they can use Arthur. If you're ever uncertain about who is requesting your verification, contact your broker directly before proceeding.
Verification confirms your identity and documents only. Brokers make their own business decisions based on the verification result and any other factors they consider.
